Gradara

Gradare Castle, governed at the time by various lordships such as the Della Rovere and the Malatesta, became famous for the passion and tragedy of the 2 lovers Paolo and Francesca, which Dante described in the V canto of the Inferno. Gradara Castle is very well preserved and is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. There are several festivals and historical re-enactments that are proposed by the Pro Loco.

Mondaino

Mondaino is a fortress of the Malatesta family, whose presumed founders appear to have been the Etruscans. The name of the place perhaps refers to the fallow deer present, once upon a time, in large quantities in the woods of the area. In the village of Mondaino it is possible to visit the Piazza and the Rocca Malatestiana, where the Paleontological Museum is also located. The enchanting urban scenography allows the success of the Palio del Daino, the medieval re-enactment that involves the entire town every August.

Sassofeltrio

Sassofeltrio is a pretty village surrounded by extraordinary landscapes, characterized by gullies and corners of absolute beauty. A perfect area to travel by bike to experience evocative emotions.

Fortress of Montefiore Conca

The Rocca di Montefiore is a beautiful and gigantic fortress, with squared and imposing lines, surrounded by nature. From the terrace of the Rocca you can admire a breathtaking panorama that extends along the entire coast. The terrace is only accessible during festivals, such as Rocca di Luna.

Castle of Montegridolfo

The Castle of Montegridolfo is one of the best preserved castles in the Rimini area. It owes its name to the Gridolfi family from Rimini, on the Guelph side, who settled here at the time of the clashes with the Ghibellines.

Castle of Montescudo

The Castle of Montescudo is located in the middle part of the valley of the Conca river which flows into Cattolica. The settlements date back to the Etruscans and Celts. The Romans followed. In 1460 Sigismondo Pandolfo built a robust fortress as a shield of the city of Rimini. Also of notable beauty is the fortified village of Albereto, also a Malatesta artefact.

Montecolombo

The Castle of Montecolombo has maintained its medieval structure despite the transformations that took place subsequently. With the nearby Montescudo, Montecolombo must have represented a good protective barrier in defense of the Rimini plain, supported like many other Malatesta castles, on the hill overlooking the river and the plain.

Castle of San Leo

The Castle of San Leo, a strategically decisive fortress for historical and military events, sees its splendor thanks to the lordship of the Montefeltro who made it the seat of the dynasty. The passage of San Francesco, Dante and Cagliostro fueled the atmosphere and the legends of magical and fantastic alchemy. Inside the village, an interesting museum with medieval armor and weapons.
